NFL news: Sean Lee gets extension, Browns receivers have speeding issues

The Dallas Cowboys signed middle linebacker Sean Lee to a six-year contract extension on Wednesday. The contract is worth $42 million, which works out to $7 million per season. There are escalators in the contract that could bump him up to $8.5 million per season. He was in the last year of a rookie contract that will pay him $630,000.

Cleveland Browns wide receivers Josh Gordon and Greg Little both have serious speeding infractions on their records. In the span of a week, Gordon and Little have both been pulled over and ticketed for speeding, and both have had prior incidents in the past few months. Little's incident in April included speeding at 127 mph and a single-car accident.

There were some reports that Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd requested a trade from the team, but a report on Wednesday refuted that rumor. Byrd recently signed his franchise tender and will join the Bills for the first time this offseason. It's unclear if Byrd is open to returning to the Bills after he plays out the franchise tag, but for now, he did not request a trade and will be available for the team.

San Francisco 49ers running back Kendall Hunter recently came off the PUP list and is now expected to play in the team's third preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. It's unclear what kind of workload Hunter will be given, but given that he has missed the last nine months due to an Achilles injury, he could see a light load in his first action back.

The Indianapolis Colts sent running back Delone Carter to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for wide receiver David Reed on Wednesday. Carter was close to earning a significant role with the Colts last season, and Reed hasn't made much of an impression with the Ravens. Both players were in danger of being cut before this trade.
