Browns vs. Colts final score: Andrew Luck leads Indianapolis to 27-6 win

The Indianapolis Colts handled the Cleveland Browns in the season’s dress rehearsal, with the Colts defense keeping Cleveland off the board until just before the starters left the field.

Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts dominated the Cleveland Browns in their preseason meeting, winning 27-6 on Saturday night. Luck played into the third quarter and ended the night 16-for-25 for 164 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Reggie Wayne had seven receptions for 79 yards, as he and Luck took full advantage of frequent matchups with Cleveland rookie cornerback Leon McFadden.

Cleveland's offense had little luck keeping pace with Indianapolis, staying off the board until a field goal midway through the third quarter. That came on Brandon Weeden's final drive of the game, and he finished 12-for-25 for 105 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. Tight end Jordan Cameron posted a quiet follow-up to his two-touchdown performance against Detroit, as shaky hands combined with hard defense from the Colts left him with just two catches for seven yards. The Browns also struggled to establish any running game, with Trent Richardson having only 31 yards on seven runs and Jamaine Cook adding two carries for 11 yards.

The Indianapolis defense managed to contain the Browns without much of a pass rush, as Björn Werner failed to generate the pressure the Colts were hoping for. LaRon Landry made his debut for the Colts and had three tackles in one half of play.

Cleveland did have a few bright spots on the evening, including the defensive play of linebacker Paul Kruger. Kruger brought consistent pressure and picked up one sack. Tashaun Gipson also played well on defense, pulling in an interception on a pass bobbled by Indianapolis fullback Stanley Havili.

Both teams are now 2-1 in the 2013 preseason. Cleveland finishes their preseason schedule on the road against the Chicago Bears, while Indianapolis finishes up with a visit to the Cincinnati Bengals.
