Eagles vs. Jaguars results: Philadelphia bests Jacksonville, 31-24

The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday, winning 31-24.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars both put up impressive rushing performances on Saturday, but it was the Eagles who emerged victorious. Bryce Brown had 92 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown, leading the Eagles to their 31-24 win.

Jordan Todman carried the ball eight times for 105 yards and a touchdown for Jacksonville.

Prior to this game, Michael Vick said he planned to run the ball more this season. He certainly delivered on that promise Saturday, carrying the ball seven times for 57 yards. He also had a pretty average day throwing the ball, completing 15 of 23 passes for 184 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy carried the ball just five times for a net of only nine yards. Jaguars starting running back Maurice Jones-Drew carried the ball seven times for 28 yards. Chad Henne, making the start due to Blaine Gabbert's injury, had a decent game. He completed 11 of 18 passes for 106 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Did they cover?

Philadelphia opened as 3-point favorites, but moved as high as 5.5-point favorites as the week went on. Either way, they covered the spread.

What’s next?

Philadelphia will take on the New York Jets on Aug. 29. Jacksonville will take on the Atlanta Falcons on the same day.
