The Denver Broncos scored 17 unanswered points in the second half on Saturday, leading to a 27-26 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Monte Ball and Lance Ball both had rushing touchdowns in the half, and Matt Prater nailed a 54-yard field goal to help things along.
Rams vs. Broncos results: Denver scores late, bests St. Louis 27-26
The Denver Broncos took down the St. Louis Rams in preseason action on Saturday, winning 27-26.

The Rams did score and had a chance to tie the game, but they went for the two-point conversion and were unsuccessful, hence the one-point differential. It’s not worth it for teams to go to overtime in the preseason.
Sam Bradford completed 9 of 16 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Starting running back Daryl Richardson was a different story, picking up just 10 yards on five carries, with an average of two yards per carry.
Peyton Manning didn't have an amazing day, but he looked plenty good. He completed 25 of 34 passes for 234 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Ball took the lion's share of the carries, running the ball 14 times for 43 yards and a touchdown.
We likely won’t see most of these guys next week, as teams usually rest their starters for the fourth preseason game.
Did they cover?
The Broncos opened up as 4.5-point favorites and could’ve been had as high as 7-point favorites as the week progressed. They did not cover in either case.
What’s next?
The Rams will take on the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 29. Denver will take on the Arizona Cardinals on the same day.
