The Dallas Cowboys gained a narrow win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday night, improving to 2-2 in the 2013 preseason with the 24-18 win. Tony Romo was efficient and controlled the ball well, completing 13 of 18 passes for 137 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Miles Austin caught 4 of 6 targets for 59 yards and Dez Bryant caught 6 of the 7 balls thrown his way for 54 yards, and both men had a touchdown on the evening. Cincinnati's Andy Dalton was 12-of-16 for 113 yards, but had no touchdowns and one interception.
Bengals vs. Cowboys results: Romo leads Dallas to 24-18 win
Tony Romo had a strong night as the Dallas Cowboys picked up the win in their regular season dress rehearsal.
Dallas entered the game without perfectly clear answers on its offensive line, and the resulting protection was adequate but not stellar. Romo had a good night, but he was sacked twice in just over a half of action. DeMarco Murray had 51 yards on 12 carries, while Joseph Randle entered the game in the third quarter and made the most of his time, collecting 66 yards on 16 carries. Rookie cornerback B.W. Webb had an interception in the first quarter, a nice step up for a player that struggled earlier in August.
A.J. Green made his preseason debut for the Bengals, pulling in three of the five balls thrown his way for 42 yards. That was more than double the next leading receiver, and Giovani Bernard's 39 yards on six carries led the team in rushing.
