Mark Sanchez’s shoulder injury isn’t as severe as it could have been, but the Jets’ signal-caller will still need to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his injury.
Mark Sanchez injury: Jets QB doesn’t have broken collarbone, getting MRI
Mark Sanchez doesn’t have anything broken, but it’s not clear how hurt he is -- or if he would even play for the Jets if healthy.

The news comes from Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, who reports that although there’s no fractured collarbone, there’s still a chance of tissue damage that could keep Sanchez out.
One would think a shoulder injury to one of the two participants in a quarterback battle would sort things out, but somehow, it's just making things more complicated. The consensus around the squad was that the organization was tired of Sanchez, now in his fifth year and seemingly no better than he was as a rookie, and that they were desperate to bench Sanchez for Geno Smith. All Smith needed to do, it seemed, was stay healthy and not give the ball away a bunch. Instead, he turned the ball over three times and ran out of the back of the end zone for a safety. Sanchez outplayed Smith Saturday night, but was still in the game in the fourth quarter when he got injured -- drawing criticism of Rex Ryan for leaving him in that long.
