The Minnesota Vikings are the next team to begin its cut down to 75 players. A total of 13 players were released on Monday, including former first-round pick Lawrence Jackson and a trio of wide receivers.

Jackson was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 28th pick of the 2008 draft. The defensive end lasted just two years before being released, when he found a home with the Detroit Lions. Jackson registered 13.0 sacks in three seasons for the Lions in a rotational role, but his production decreased with each season.
He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings in April, and had an opportunity to earn a spot as a designated pass rusher. Jackson made four tackles in three preseason games, but failed to generate any pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The 27-year-old will hope another team will take a flyer on him, but there’s already a surplus of pass rushers hitting the market via cuts.
