Wright suffered a sprained knee in the second preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He admitted after the game that he was "pretty worried" about the knee, but an MRI did not reveal any ligament damage. Wright did not practice Tuesday and will not suit up for Thursday's preseason finale, but the team isn't worried about his recovery.
Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains thinks he will be fine for the Week 1 game against the Steelers, and seems impressed with the young receiver's work ethic. From the Titans' official website:
“I’m very confident in Kendall getting healthy,” Loggains said. “He’s a competitor. I know he wants to be out here. He’s a guy that doesn’t like being in the training room, feels guilty about it, so at this point we’re doing everything we can to get him ready and I have to go on the understanding that he will be ready.”
A first-round pick out of Baylor in 2012, Wright recorded 64 catches for 626 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie year. He's currently third on the depth chart behind Kenny Britt and Nate Washington, but he could work his way up if he clicks with Jake Locker.
