Earl Bennett is reportedly on the Chicago Bears' trading block, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bennett has been battling a concussion since taking a big hit during training camp on Aug. 2. He has yet to return to the team since.

The Chicago wideout has not been able to stay healthy, and could be on the Bears’ trading block as a result.

Bennett has been a reliable No. 3 wide receiver for the Bears when healthy. He averaged 50 receptions a season over his first two years in the NFL, and was on pace for similar numbers the last two seasons, but struggled to stay on the field due to injuries.
The Bears may be pessimistic about Bennett’s ability stay healthy, though if that’s the case they shouldn’t expect to find many suitors anxious to make a deal. As Schefter notes, the Bears may have also have trouble pulling off a trade at a time when teams are more focused on paring their own rosters down to 53 players.
The Bears may also be optimistic about the talent they have accumulated behind Brandon Marshall. Alshon Jeffery, the Bears' 2012 second-round draft pick, may be ready to emerge. The Bears may also be pleased with rookie Marquess Wilson, who has been impressive during training camp according to Bears blog Windy City Gridiron.
