The Atlanta Falcons expect wide receiver Roddy White to be back on the field Week 1 of the regular season when they take on the New Orleans Saints in an NFC South showdown, according to reports.
Roddy White injury: Falcons expect WR back for Week 1
Atlanta believes top receiver Roddy White will be back for the opener.

General manager Thomas Dimitroff said he hopes the wide receiver will be back for the start of the season. Head coach Mike Smith added that he fully expects the wide receiver to play in the opener.
White injured his ankle in a game against the Baltimore Ravens this preseason and hasn't played since, resting up for when the games begin to count. Matt Ryan will be thrilled to see No. 84 back in the lineup, providing a much-needed threat opposite of Julio Jones.
White has been one of the most productive players in the league throughout his career since being drafted in 2005 out of UAB. Last season, the South Carolina native hauled in 92 passes for 1,351 yards and seven touchdowns. His career total of 8,725 receiving yards is the all-time franchise mark.
His best season came in 2010, when White amassed career-highs in catches (115), yards (1,389) and 10 touchdowns, the second-best total of his career.
