Mason Crosby contract: Packers K restructures deal, per report

Crosby still has a contract with Green Bay, but now it’s a much smaller one.

Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby has agreed to restructure his contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Before agreeing to the new deal, Crosby was going to make $2.4 million in base salary in 2013. Now, Crosby will only make $800,000 guaranteed if he’s on the roster come Sept. 7 and then have an opportunity to make $1.6 million in bonuses and incentives. The other two years left on Crosby’s contract haven’t been changed.

Some in the NFL are surprised Crosby still has a job with the Packers after his terrible season in 2012. Crosby was abysmal, hitting on only 63.6 percent of his field goal attempts.

So far, Crosby has been excellent in the preseason by nailing all four of his kicks and not missing any extra points.

The easy way to avoid any issues is to let Aaron Rodgers throw the football into the end zone, because he's pretty good at that and stuff.
