The Patriots will sit quarterback Tom Brady in the team's preseason finale on Thursday, according to the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe. Brady, as well as many other key starters, will get the night off against the Giants as coach Bill Belichick gets a longer look at the depth on his roster before final cuts. One of those players who will have an opportunity Thursday night is quarterback Tim Tebow.
Tom Brady, other Patriots starters to sit vs. Giants, per report
In an effort to keep his regulars healthy before the season and get a longer look at bubble players like Tim Tebow, coach Bill Belichick will sit many of the starters on Thursday.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft commented this week that he was "rooting" for Tebow to make the 53-man roster, but of course he has no say in the matter. Still, Tebow should get extensive playing time against New York, as will expected backup quarterback Ryan Mallett.
Tebow has not played that well thus far in the preseason, though Belichick said that he was “great to work with.”
With most starters on the bench, the team will also look at the depth at positions like running back and tight end. Some believe that safety Adrian Wilson could be a surprise cut.
They will all get a chance to prove themselves on Thursday.
