Texans vs. Cowboys 2013 results: Houston quarterbacks star in 24-6 victory

Few teams are as deep at quarterback as Houston, which had its full depth chart on display Thursday.

The Houston Texans won an in-state battle over the Dallas Cowboys, 24-6, on Thursday night behind some consistent quarterback play. It was a strong reflection of the team's depth at the position as the preseason winds down.

A team in need of a quarterback might be putting in a call to the Texans soon, as both T.J. Yates and Case Keenum thrived in the final preseason game. Yates finished with 109 yards passing and a touchdown, completing over 80 percent of his passes, while Keenum had similar success with 128 yards of his own. The offensive show didn't stop there, as running back Cierre Wood finished with over 100 yards, including a 41-yard run.

Dallas had no answer for the Texans' unexpectedly deep attack. Kyle Orton attempted just one pass, turning over the offense to third-string quarterback Alex Tanney early. He finished with 177 yards and an interception on 29 attempts. The lack of wide receiver depth may be troubling to Cowboys' head coach Jason Garrett. There were a few flashes, but it's clear how much this team relies on Dez Bryant and Miles Austin, both of whom had the night off.

The Texans were five-point favorites, according to OddsShark. Their 18-point victory easily covers the spread.
