Andrew Luck had the night off, and Andy Dalton completed a single pass before being called out of the game. Those facts turned Thursday's contest between the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals into a purely developmental affair. Ultimately, the Bengals triumphed, 27-10, in a high-scoring, low-yardage game.

Josh Johnson got the lion's share of reps at quarterback for Cincinnati and showed why he's the team's backup. The 27-year-old finished the night completing 7-of-13 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Rookie running back Giovani Bernard had some success, too, finishing with 12 yards and a touchdown before being benched.

The big story on offense for Indianapolis was running back Kerwynn Williams, a seventh-round pick out of Utah State. He ran for 92 yards on 18 carries, including a long run of 23 yards. The Colts are trying to form a more consistent run game in 2013 after signing Ahmad Bradshaw this offseason. If Williams is able to add something as a change of pace back, it could bring a new dimension to the Colts' offense.
