The Philadelphia Eagles made 12 cuts Friday morning, the team announced on its Twitter page in two separate tweets (one and two). The team also placed defensive end Joe Kruger on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Eagles cut QB Dennis Dixon, 11 others
With Michael Vick as the Eagles’ starting quarterback, it seems the former Oregon QB’s services were redundant.

Among those cut was quarterback Dennis Dixon, who was a senior quarterback at Oregon when Eagles coach Chip Kelly was the school's offensive coordinator. Dixon signed with the Eagles in the offseason after spending last year as the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad QB. He was a fifth-round draft selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2008 and spent the first four years of his career there.
The only 2013 Eagles draftee cut Friday was defensive end David King, who was taken in the seventh round out of Oklahoma.
The Eagles’ roster is now down to 62 players, so nine more must be cut before Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. A full list of the Eagles’ cuts is listed below.
