Seneca Wallace isn’t retiring, according to agent

Contrary to what Jim Harbaugh said earlier this week, Seneca Wallace might not be retiring after all.

It appears Seneca Wallace might not have played his last down of football in the NFL. Don Yee, Wallace's agent, does not expect his client to retire. Rather, he insists that Wallace simply is planning to move on from the 49ers, according to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

After Thursday’s game against the Chargers, head coach Jim Harbaugh said that Wallace, who did not make the trip to San Diego, told him he would not be continuing to play football. Yee says Wallace told Harbaugh he didn’t want to play if he was only going to do so at the end of the game.

The 33-year-old Wallace failed to beat out Colt McCoy for San Francisco's backup quarterback job and did not appear to be content as the team's No. 3 quarterback. Yee also told the Sacramento Bee that Wallace expects to be cut when the 49ers have to get down to 53 players by Saturday's deadline.

The Bee said Harbaugh was surprised by Wallace’s decision to not play against San Diego.
