Brian Banks' latest shot at the NFL came to an end on Friday when the Falcons released the former prized recruit who spent five years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, according Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Banks was accused of rape back in 2002. He served five years in jail and five years of probation before the alleged victim recanted her story in 2012. He played in the United Football League last season before signing with the Falcons in the spring.
Glazer reported that the Banks gave a spirited speech to the team, and that owner Arthur Blank wants to find a career opportunity for Banks in the organization.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end DeQuin Evans was suspended for eight games on Friday after his second violation of the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs. Evans had four tackles in preseason play and was far from a lock to make the 53-man roster. The Bengals' roster decisions have become a bit easier on Friday. With Evans' suspension and Emmanuel Lamur being out for the season with a shoulder injury, the Bengals now have two open spaces on the 53-man team.
The Patriots released two tight ends from their roster on Friday, sending Daniel Fells and Jake Ballard packing. Ballard missed all of last season with a knee injury after playing a key role in the New York Giants' Super Bowl win over the Patriots. The Patriots now have three tight ends on their roster. Rob Gronkowski, Zach Sudfeld and Michael Hoomanawanui are the team's only options at a position that was once deep with talent.
