Former Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield will retire after 14 seasons in the NFL, according to Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

The former Vikings and Bills cornerback is set to retire after 14 seasons in the NFL.

Winfield, 36, was signed by the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year, $3 million deal, but didn't earn much playing time in preseason and struggled during his few times on the field. On Saturday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll confirmed the report that Winfield was electing to retire with a tweet thanking the veteran for his time with the team:

A first-round pick in the 1999 NFL Draft, Winfield played five seasons with the Bills before joining the Vikings in free agency. He played the next nine seasons of his career with the Vikings, earning Pro Bowl trips in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Winfield finishes his career with 173 starts in 191 games, accumulating 27 career interceptions, 7.5 sacks and 14 fumbles forced.
