Cowboys acquire LB Edgar Jones from Chiefs for draft pick
The Kansas City Chiefs traded linebacker Edgar Jones to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.

Jones spent his first five seasons in the league with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Chiefs last season. He's 6'3, 262 pounds and is primarily a contributor on special teams, with 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks to his name. He's also had a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown.
The Chiefs made their roster cuts to get down to the 53-man limit on Saturday, but Jones remained on the roster. It’s unclear if he would have been released in the event that the team couldn’t find a trade partner, or if the Cowboys contacted the Chiefs to ensure they were able to secure Jones rather than let him hit the waiver wire.
