Jacksonville’s new front office didn’t rush to select a rookie quarterback in April’s draft, and they’re continuing this poised approach with their veteran talent. The team’s first unofficial depth chart has an unorthodox situation at quarterback, where both Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne are listed as the team’s No. 1.

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t rushing to a decision on who will be their top quarterback.

Jaguars' head coach Gus Bradley will use preseason to evaluate both players, before making a decision for the regular season. Gabbert is entering his third year, and received positive reviews early in training camp. The former first-round pick garnered praise for trying to play through pain, though the young quarterback had been limited in recent practices. He started 10 games in 2012, throwing for 1,662 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Henne was signed as a free agent prior to the beginning of the 2012 season as a backup for Gabbert, but was called to action in week ten of the regular season. Filling in due to injury, he closed out the season with 2,084 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, but paired this with 11 interceptions, and a 72.2 quarterback rating.
