There has been no shortage of injuries in the weeks since NFL teams opened training camps. Atlanta Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon can be added to the list after suffering a "badly dislocated finger" at a joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The Falcoholic says Weatherspoon's injury "could be worse."Weatherspoon’s timetable for return has not yet been revealed, but the linebacker did manage to avoid broken bones. Still, it would be surprising if the Falcons allowed Weatherspoon to participate in the team’s first preseason game on Thursday night, as teams are typically very cautious during the early preseason games.
Behind Weatherspoon, there isn't a lot of depth on the Falcons roster at weak-side linebacker, as Robert James and Joplo Bartu are the two players listed behind him on the depth chart. A first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Weatherspoon has started in 28 games over the past two seasons and has developed into a leader on the Falcons defense.
He is currently recovering from an offseason arthroscopic knee surgery. The Falcons are scheduled to begin their preseason on Thursday at home in the Georgia Dome against the Bengals with a kickoff at 8 p.m. ET.
