It’s time for everybody’s favorite game: “How big a degenerate are you!” It’s pretty tough to gauge games in the first week of the NFL preseason -- note, Tampa Bay were three-point favorites in last night’s game against Baltimore, and lost 44-16 -- but people in Vegas try anyway, and you can make actual legal tender by betting on these games (although we wouldn’t recommend trying.
NFL preseason 2013 odds: Lines for Friday’s games
Most odds in Week 1 of the preseason game are just “[HOME TEAM] -3.” The games where it is not speak sagas about the teams involved.

Friday night features eight preseason games -- let’s see how the bookmakers feel about each:
7:30 p.m.: New York Jets vs. Detroit Lions -3.5
Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith are jawing for a starting spot, which doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
7:30 p.m.: Miami Dolphins -1.5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Talking about sad quarterback battles: Chad Henne vs. Blaine Gabbert! Gabbert's gonna start, but there is no greater sign that something is horribly, horribly wrong than when an away team is favored in a game in Week 1 of the preseason.
All eyes will be on Riley Cooper -- not just because of his incident, but because the Eagles need to see if he can step up in the absence of Jeremy Maclin. OH, WAIT: ALL EYES WILL ACTUALLY BE ON TIM TEBOW WHO WILL PROBABLY PLAY EXTENDED SNAPS AT QUARTERBACK TEBOW TEBOW TEBOW TEBOW
The Marc Trestman era begins for Chicago, so Bears fans will want to get a glimpse at how play-calling goes under their new coach, regardless of who's actually in the game.
Got the No. 1 pick in your fantasy league? Base it on how Adrian Peterson and Arian Foster look in their one series of work.
Andy Reid and Sean Payton will both be readjusting to the sidelines, Reid calling his first game for the Chiefs and Payton back with New Orleans for the first time in a year after the bounty scandal.
Seriously, every preseason line is just the home team -3.
