Cleveland Browns outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo has been medically cleared to play football once again, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Mingo suffered a bruised lung against the Detroit Lions in the second preseason game and hasn't stepped on the field since. If all things continue to progress as expected, Mingo should make his debut this week against the Baltimore Ravens in their home-opener.
When the Browns drafted Mingo, they envisioned having him as part of a very strong rotation on the outside with newly-signed Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard. Cleveland will finally get a chance to see exactly how that can work with Mingo mended.
At LSU, Mingo was one of the best players in the country, forming a devastating duo at the defensive end position with Sam Montgomery. While together, the two helped to lead LSU to a BCS National Championship game appearance against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
