The NFL has announced its weekly awards for the best performances, and a couple of very recognizable names are on the list.
NFL players of the week: Peyton Manning, Robert Quinn get honors
The first week brought us plenty of great performances, including a few from usual suspects.

For the NFC, the offensive player of the week is San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin. On defense, defensive end Robert Quinn of the St. Louis Rams came home with hardware. The special teams award went to Dallas Cowboys kick returner Dwayne Harris, according to Brian McIntyre.
In the AFC, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston and New York Jets kicker Nick Folk won the offensive, defensive and special teams awards respectively, also per McIntyre.
Manning of course was the main attraction in Week 1, throwing for seven touchdowns to tie an NFL record. Boldin had 208 receiving yards, while Houston and Quinn each had three sacks in their wins.
Folk was busy in New York, knocking through the game-winning 48-yard field goal to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
