Robert Griffin III injury: Redskins QB insists he’s 100 percent

Robert Griffin III says that his knee is still 100 percent despite a rusty performance in Monday night’s loss.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III said he is 100 percent in a conference call with Green Bay Packers reporters. Griffin insisted that he felt good after suffering a torn ACL last January.

Griffin missed the preseason while rehabbing from the injury, which may explain his somewhat rusty performance in a 33-27 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. He says that he wasn't happy with the offense and believes that the missed preseason time is just "an excuse." From the Green Bay Press Gazette:

“We were sloppy as an offense and we made our coaches look bad on the national stage and that’s not the way this organization is run,” Griffin said. “It’s not the way we run as an offense. We’ll clean that up. We’ve got to do that Sunday.”

The Redskins play the Packers this week. Both teams are looking for their first win of the season. The Packers gave up nearly 500 total yards in their playoff rematch with the San Francisco 49ers. Griffin and the Redskins look to get off to a better start after falling behind 26-7 to the Eagles at halftime.
