The San Diego Chargers travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. Though both teams' Monday night games were surprisingly similar, they ended up on opposite sides of the win/loss ledger, and their trajectories seem vastly divergent.
NFL picks and predictions, Chargers vs. Eagles
A trip to “the Linc” is expected to end badly for San Diego after its Week 1 collapse.

The Eagles blew the doors off Washington in their 33-27 victory on Monday, thanks to the brand-new offense imported from the Oregon Ducks by new head coach Chip Kelly. Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson all looked borderline unstoppable in the first half, and a late Redskins rally masked what a fearsome display of offense the Eagles put on the board in Week 1. Still, the game ended on a 20-0 Washington streak and the Redskins quite nearly recovered an onside kick that would have given them a chance to win.
Meanwhile, San Diego raced out to a 28-7 lead over Houston in the third quarter of Monday's late game, and like Washington, the Texans put together a fierce late-game charge. The only difference was that Houston's rally was enough to win, 31-28, shocking and demoralizing the Chargers' home crowd. It was reminiscent of too many Chargers collapses under former head coach Norv Turner and Marty Schottenheimer in years past, and though those coaches have left San Diego, their legacies remains.
The experts are unanimous in thinking Philadelphia wins this one; CBSSports.com goes 8-0 in favor of Eagles picks, while all ESPN writers polled agree on the new-look Philadelphia attack prevailing. According to OddsShark.com, Philadelphia is anywhere from -8 to -9.5 in the game; that makes this one of the most lopsided lines of the weekend.
