Now, the two teams favored to be at the top of the NFC West and widely considered two of the best teams in the NFL, will face off in a pivotal rivalry game. It’s about as important a Week 2 game as you can get. There’s always time to recover and these teas control their destinies, but holding at home would be big for Seattle while winning in their house would be huge for the 49ers.
Experts have been making their picks for this game, and as far as CBS Sports is concerned, the Seahawks have this one all wrapped up. All eight of their experts, which includes Jason La Canfora, Will Brinson and Pete Prisco, believe Seattle will come out on top. ESPN’s experts are a little more divided, however. Seven of their 13 experts are picking the 49ers to score the “upset” on the road. Both of Yahoo’s picking experts took the Seahawks.
Seattle opened as 3-point favorites to win the match, and the line has narrowed slightly by half a point on some books, according to OddsShark. These two are seen as equals by many, and the home-field advantage is tipping the scales in favor of Seattle.
