Few receiving corps have been as hampered by injuries this season as the San Diego Chargers', and things have just gotten worse on that front as star wideout Malcom Floyd was taken off the field on a stretcher and away from the field in an ambulance.
Malcom Floyd injury: Chargers WR suffers scary head/neck injury, leaves stadium in ambulance
The Chargers WR was involved in a freakish collision in the middle of the field.

Floyd was sandwiched between two Eagles defenders on a pass over the middle, and while the hit was undeniably clean even by the NFL's new, more protective standards, it still resulted in Floyd's neck getting compressed as he fumbled then crumpled in a heap.
Though Floyd could be seen moving his limbs in the immediate aftermath of the hit, he stayed down and the trainers exercised caution in keeping his head and neck immobilized as he was taken off the field into an ambulance.

Fortunately, though this injury may yet be serious, the worst-case scenarios appear to be out of the question, according to Ian Rapoport:
#Chargers WR Malcom Floyd, taken off on a stretcher, has feeling in his limbs and is coherent, source says. On his way to the hospital
