Rams vs. Falcons 2013 injury report: Atlanta ravaged by injuries in Week 2 win

The Falcons paid a price for their Week 2 win.

Kevin C. Cox

The Atlanta Falcons beat the St. Louis Rams 31-24 in Week 2, but they earned the win without a handful of starters who left the game with injury.

In addition to having Roddy White hobbled by an ankle injury, the Falcons lost Steven Jackson and four others to injury. Jackson suffered a thigh injury after catching a touchdown and did not return to the game. Fullback Bradie Ewing and cornerback Asante Samuel also left the game early with injuries. The severity of Atlanta's injuries is not yet known.

Meanwhile, the Rams lost tackle Rodger Saffold to injury late in the game and saw Matt Daniels exit the game with an ankle injury on the opening kickoff.

Despite the injuries, the Falcons managed to hold on for the win. However, the health of the team could be an issue going forward. Both Julio Jones and White have appeared on the injury report this season, and now Jackson is injured as well. Their depth will be tested going forward.
