Ryan Clady injury: Broncos LT has Lisfranc foot sprain

Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady is out indefinitely with a Lisfranc injury, putting Chris Clark in charge of the Peyton Manning’s blind side for the time being.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Ryan Clady will miss several weeks for the Denver Broncos with a Lisfranc foot sprain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Clady has not missed a start for the Broncos since being drafted No. 12 overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. Chris Clark is expected to take over as the team's starting left tackle, according to Broncos blog Mile High Report.

The Broncos have made a very strong argument that they are the best team in the NFL over the course of the first two weeks of the season. Behind strong performances by Peyton Manning, the Broncos beat the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Giants each by double digits. Clady is considered one of the premiere left tackles in football and one of the biggest reasons Manning has had time to pinpoint wideouts this season.

There is no word yet on exactly how long Clady will be out. The Broncos have yet to make an official announcement concerning the injury. Lisfranc injuries typically need months of rest to heal properly, and can render players ineffective if played upon.
