An 0-2 start has some fans wondering if backup Kirk Cousins is the answer to turning the team's fortunes around. Griffin hasn't played poorly, but his three interceptions in two games is worrisome; he threw eight in his rookie season. The quarterback has looked uncomfortable behind center, possibly due to his ongoing recovery from off-season knee surgery.
Typically this wouldn’t be a discussion, but Cousins’ preseason performance has allowed a small controversy in Washington. Taking over for Griffin III, he completed 80 percent of his passes and did not turn over the ball in two preseason games.
Peyton Manning has been near-perfect in 2013, but his life could be getting a little more difficult. A Lisfranc foot sprain is set to sideline left tackle Ryan Clady for several weeks, but an exact time frame is not known at this time.

Carolina Panthers' safety Charles Godfrey will miss the remainder of the 2013 season with an Achilles injury, the team announced on Monday. The defensive back was injured late in the Panthers' loss to Buffalo on Sunday after he tried to stand and as unable to put weight on his leg.
Fellow defensive backs Quintin Mikell, Josh Thomas and Josh Norman were also injured in the loss, but there has been no indication who will start at the vacated free safety spot.
The Oakland Raiders have been one of the NFL's surprise teams to start the 2013 season, but they could have a lot more trouble on defense now that defensive back Tyvon Branch has suffered a fractured fibula.
Usama Young is the most likely replacement, and the team has time to prepare him for the Raiders' next game on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
