Jets vs. Patriots fight: Fines expected, suspensions unlikely

After an ugly end to the game between the Jets and Patriots, a few fines are expected, but no suspensions.

Thursday night's game between New York and New England ended in ugly fashion with the teams getting into a shoving match and two Jets players being ejected. The incident isn't likely to cause any players to be suspended, although there will be fines, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The incident occurred after New York’s Nick Mangold tackled New England’s Aqib Talib low and while he was going out of bounds following an interception.

Left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson was ejected for throwing a punch while offensive lineman Willie Colon was tossed for making contact with an official. According to Rapoport, Colon is likely to be hit with the largest fine. Ferguson is likely to be fined after being ejected while Mangold could also be fined after he was flagged for the original hit.

The NFL will review the video of the incident and other players could face discipline for their actions, even if they were not flagged during the game. The fines are likely to be announced on Friday.
