Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman left Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals on the opening kickoff after taking a hit to the head.

Redman didn’t even make it to the Steelers’ opening offensive series before getting injured.
The Steelers were evaluating Redman for a possible concussion on the sidelines. Redman didn’t have a single rushing attempt before exiting the game.
Meanwhile, Felix Jones started at running back for the Steelers with Redman on the sidelines. Pittsburgh handed the ball to Jones three times on its opening series of the game and began mixing in Jonathan Dwyer as a change-of-pace back.
Pittsburgh's backfield has been a mess ever since rookie Le'Veon Bell went down in the preseason with a foot injury. It's still unclear when Bell will be back, but losing Redman would be a blow to a team already lacking depth at the position. Even though Redman rushed for only nine yards on eight attempts in the season opener, the Steelers are running out of options at running back.
Update: Redman has been cleared to return.
