The Rams will need a backup plan at right tackle following a leg injury to Rodger Saffold in Week 2's loss to the Falcons. Saffold will likely be out of the lineup on a "week-to-week" basis due to a sprained MCL, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The former second-round pick is "almost certainly out" for Week 3's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Rapoport.
Rodger Saffold injury: Rams OT ‘week-to-week’ with sprained MCL
The Rams will likely need a replacement at right tackle for the next few weeks.

Saffold was injured when a Falcons defensive lineman was blocked and pushed into the back of the right tackle’s knee. According to Rapoport, he avoided tears likely due to the knee brace that he was wearing. Saffold has had issues with staying healthy, as he missed 13 games from 2011-2012.
With Saffold out with the MCL sprain, swing tackle Joe Barksdale will likely get the call at the right tackle spot. Barksdale has played in just 24 games over the last four seasons since being drafted in the third-round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. St. Louis claimed him off waivers after he was let go by Oakland last September. He has started just two NFL games in his NFL career.
The Rams will travel to Dallas in Week 3 to play the Cowboys. The game will be aired on FOX at 1 p.m. ET.
