Sean Weatherspoon injury: Falcons LB could miss 8 weeks with sprained foot
Sean Weatherspoon has been put on injury reserve with a designation to return, costing him at least eight weeks.

Weatherspoon suffered a sprained foot in Sunday's win over the St. Louis Rams. Under the designated to return tag, he is ineligible to to practice for six weeks and will not be able to play until Week 11. Weatherspoon has played all 16 games just once in his career in 2011. Last season, he missed three games while recording 95 tackles, three sacks and an interception.
The injury is another major blow to a Falcons defense that's already thin on healthy players. They lost Kroy Biermann for the year with a torn Achilles and cornerback Asante Samuel tweaked his thigh in the same game. Through two games, the Falcons defense has allowed 693 passing yards, fourth most in the league. Things won't get any easier when the face the Miami Dolphins in Week 3.
