The Falcons will be missing some extra punch on offense due to an injury that will sideline running back Steven Jackson for at least the next two weeks. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jackson suffered a thigh injury during Atlanta's Week 2 win against the Rams. While he is listed as "week-to-week," Rapoport reports that the injury may cause him to miss two to four weeks of action.
Steven Jackson injury: Falcons RB could miss 2-4 weeks
The Falcons have suffered a major but temporary loss to their high-powered offense.

Jackson was acquired by the Falcons this offseason during free agency when he signed a three-year deal after spending 10 years in St. Louis. In two games with the Falcons this season, Jackson has had 14 carries for 77 yards and six receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson's injury is the latest in a long line of bumps and bruises for the Falcons. Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, fullback Bradie Ewing (broken shoulder) and defensive end Kroy Biermann (torn Achilles) were all put on injured reserve earlier this week. Weatherspoon was given the "designated to return" tag.
The Falcons will travel to Miami in Week 3 to play the Dolphins. The game will air live on FOX at 4:05 p.m. ET.
