Chiefs injuries: Branden Albert will practice, Anthony Fasano sits out

Kansas City may be without its starting tight end on Thursday against the Eagles.

The Chiefs suffered a pair of injuries to their offense in Week 2 and that is impacting the numbers on the practice field. According to Rachel Santschi of KCChiefs.com, tight end Anthony Fasano will miss practice on Tuesday, but offensive tackle Branden Albert will attempt to participate. Fasano injured his ankle and Albert hurt his shoulder against the Cowboys in Week 2.

With Fasano potentially out of the lineup, rookie Travis Kelce is expected to handle the load against the Eagles on Thursday. Kelce is a third-round pick out of Cincinnati and has yet to catch a pass in the regular season. He is the brother of Philadelphia center Jason Kelce.

If Albert is able to practice, that would be a huge boost to the Chiefs’ offensive line. He is expected to play on Thursday, but a couple of days of practice would likely make the coaching staff a bit more comfortable.

Cornerback Dunta Robinson is also expected to return to the lineup on Thursday. He missed all of Week 2 with a personal matter that involved his cousin, who was struck by a car and in intensive care.

The Chiefs will travel to Philadelphia in head coach Andy Reid’s return to face the Eagles during Thursday Night Football on NFL Network.
