Williams suffered a broken ankle in Sunday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. An undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, he spent the past two season with the 49ers, appearing in six games. He was making his first-career start on Sunday. Former Cheifs first-round pick Glenn Dorsey will take his place on the defensive line.
Marecic was a fourth-round pick for the Cleveland Browns in 2011. He appeared in 24 games in two seasons, mostly playing on special teams. The Browns released him at final roster cuts. He will be reuniting with Jim Harbaugh, who coached Marecic at Stanford. Marecic played both sides of the field for the Cardinal, making the All-Pac-10 First-Team as a fullback and honorable mentions as a linebacker.
