NFL roundup: Duane Brown’s injury, Darrelle Revis drama and more

Duane Brown is dealing with a foot injury, Darrelle Revis met with head coach Greg Schiano to clear the air and more you might have missed from Tuesday.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans left tackle Duane Brown suffered a foot injury against the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 and could miss Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Brown has a bad case of turf toe on his right foot and will undergo treatment throughout the week. As he's the starting left tackle and one of their best offensive linemen, it would be a big deal if he were to miss the game. A clearer picture of his status should be had in the coming days when the practice participation reports roll out.

Here’s what else you may have missed from Tuesday:

Revis, Schiano clear the air

It was suggested that Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis was unhappy with head coach Greg Schiano and his defense, but on Tuesday the two reportedly met and cleared the air. Revis says there's no truth to the report that he's unhappy, only that he's frustrated with the team's 0-2 start. That said, if he were unhappy with the way he's being used, it would be justified, given that the Bucs are using him in the zone more than man coverage.

49ers make roster moves

The San Francisco 49ers placed defensive tackle Ian Williams on injured reserve Tuesday. Williams, the team's starting nose tackle, suffered a broken ankle in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The team signed fullback Owen Marecic to push Bruce Miller, who struggled on Sunday. It's likely more roster moves are on the way, however, as the 49ers are light on defensive linemen after Williams' injury.

Britt Tweets

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt took to Twitter to say that 2013 might be his final season with the team. Britt was benched in Week 2 for a bone-headed play that wiped away a Tennessee first down at a crucial time. Britt has been a disappointment since being drafted and his complaining on Twitter comes after everyone already assumed he wouldn't be re-signed. At this point, it wouldn't be totally shocking if he were released.

Jackson could miss 2-4 weeks

The Atlanta Falcons lost running back Steven Jackson early in Week 2, and it seems he'll miss more time. On Tuesday, head coach Mike Smith said that he's not sure if Jackson will miss one or two weeks, but that it's a minor injury. He'll be back sometime soon and he should be a solid contributor, but it definitely hurts them for the time being. Fortunately, Matt Ryan has a strong group of receivers to work with.
