The Saints placed cornerback Patrick Robinson on injured reserve Wednesday, ending his season. Robinson was carted off of the field on Sunday after injuring his right leg in the Saints' win over Tampa Bay.
Patrick Robinson injury: Saints place CB on injured reserve
New Orleans is off to a great start this year, but will have to continue without an important piece of the secondary. The Saints are losing one of their top starters for the season.

A first-round pick by New Orleans in 2010 out of Florida State, Robinson began to establish himself last year, when he started all 16 games for the Saints. Robinson record three interceptions and 18 pass deflections, though New Orleans ranked 31st in passing yards allowed. He recorded a 99-yard interception return touchdown last season, tying a Saints record.
To prepare for the loss of Robinson, the Saints signed free agent corner Chris Carr on Tuesday. Carr has only played sparingly on defense since 2010, seeing just a few snaps with the Chargers last season.
The Saints are off to a much better start on defense this season, containing the passing offenses of the Falcons and Buccaneers. New Orleans is currently sixth in scoring defense and eighth in passing yards allowed. The Saints take on the Arizona Cardinals this weekend.
