Lions vs. Redskins 2013 picks and predictions: Experts giving Detroit the edge

Washington is in danger of falling to 0-3 as they take on a Detroit team that looks to have Calvin Johnson back on track.

After an 0-2 start, it would appear thats some of the luster of Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins is beginning to wear off. Heading into their Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions, the Redskins are being picked by many NFL experts to fall to 0-3 on Sunday.

Despite a much-improved second-half performance, RGIII struggled mightily in his team's opening loss to the Eagles. Although his numbers improved significantly last week agains the Packers (104.2 passer rating), the rest of the team provided little support as Green Bay rolled to a 38-20 win.

The Lions opened with a 34-24 win over the division rival Vikings, but fell in a close game to the Cardinals last week. The good news for Detroit fans was that Calvin Johonson got back on track after a slow start in Week 1, snagging a pair of touchdowns in the loss.

Experts seem to believe the Lions can build off the Johnson-Matthew Stafford connection, and have them as the favorites. Only two of CBS Sports’s eight panelists think the Redskins will pull out the win, and they are the only two that don’t think the Lions will cover the 1½-point spread. The ESPN crew is a bit more divided, with the eight experts that have made picks split right down the middle.
