Champ Bailey injury: Broncos CB practices in full pads

After missing the first two games with a left foot injury, Bailey could be on track to play in Week 3.

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey practiced in pads Thursday, according to Lindsay Jones of USA Today. Having missed the first two regular season games, Thursday marks the first time Bailey has practiced since suffering a sprained left foot on Aug. 17. If ready to play this week, Bailey will make his season debut against the the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football.

Starting in his place was third-year corner Chris Harris, who has an interception in each of the first two games this season. Harris started 12 games in 2012, but lost his spot when the Broncos signed Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the offseason.

The Broncos haven't seen any action from their pair of Pro Bowl defenders, with Von Miller just two games into a six-game substance-abuse suspension. The absences haven't hindered Denver in the win column, though, as the Broncos have become the Super Bowl favorites after a blistering 2-0 start.

Bailey, in his 15th season in the league, has been with Denver since 2004 and has missed just 14 games across 10 seasons with the franchise. He has also represented the Broncos in the Pro Bowl every season since coming over, except 2008, when he played just nine games due to a nagging groin injury.
