The Miami Dolphins will sign former Philadelphia Eagles guard Danny Watkins, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS. Watkins is expected to sign a contract with his new team soon.
Dolphins sign Danny Watkins, according to report
Watkins has new life in his NFL career after being released by the Eagles over the weekend.

Watkins, a former first-round pick of the Eagles in 2011, never lived up to expectations in Philadelphia, struggling for two seasons before being released over the weekend.
When Watkins initially cleared waivers, the guard had a handful of suitors, according to La Canfora. He got a late start to his football career at Butte College but managed to work his way into being a highly regarded prospect at Baylor.
The Dolphins could use all of the offensive line help they can get. Even though Miami spent big in free agency to put weapons around second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill, his offensive line is still suspect at best.
Watkins spent a few games on the Eagles’ inactive list in 2012 before working his way back into a starting role. However, he didn’t seem to fit in with what new head coach Chip Kelly does on offense and became expendable.
