Chargers vs. Titans, 2013 NFL Week 3: Jake Locker to Justin Hunter wins it for Tennessee

The San Diego Chargers needed to score a touchdown with two seconds left to get a win over the Titans. Suffice it to say, their attempt to pick up that touchdown did not go as planned.

It was supposed to be a hook-and-ladder play, and, for a second, worked out, with the team picking up about 30 yards on the first two transitions between players. But the ball started going backwards... and backwards... and there was a forward lateral... and it ended up with Philip Rivers kicking the ball on the ground, which is a penalty. Locker was 7-of-10 for 94 yards and a touchdown on the final drive alone. The Chargers fell to 1-2.

That leaves San Diego with fewer options than a normal NFL roster, and a lack of depth on defense that could become an issue.

Barring a tie, one of these teams will have a winning record after their matchup in Tennessee on Sunday and the other will have a little bit more climbing to do in the standings. Of course, the difference between the two matchups is simple: the Titans eventually fell to the Texans, while the Chargers were victorious. It was a strong performance from both teams, and this matchup should be a good one. Last season, the Chargers played the Titans in Week 2, and won, 38-10.
