Jaguars offense hits new low in Seattle

The Jaguars offense is really, really bad.

Nobody expected the Jacksonville Jaguars to put up much of a fight against the Seattle Seahawks, but the Jaguars' anemic offense has been worse than ever. Midway through the second quarter, the Seahawks lead, 17-0, and the game is nowhere near as close as the scoreboard looks.

Here are all the ways the Jaguars are failing on Sunday.

  • Negative nine yards in the first quarter
  • Zero first downs until midway through the second quarter
  • The Jaguars didn't advance past their own 30-yard line until the second quarter
  • Chad Henne lost a fumble on the first snap of the game
  • Maurice Jones-Drew had negative five yards in the first quarter
  • Bryan Anger has already punted four times

In Week 1, the Jaguars didn't advance past midfield until halfway through the fourth quarter. They didn't score their first touchdown of the year until late in garbage time against the Raiders. The good news? Coach Pete Carroll isn't known for taking his foot off the gas. Things could get much uglier in Seattle on Sunday.

In case you think the Cleveland Browns have a chance to get a higher draft pick than Jacksonville, Brian Hoyer threw for 321 yards and led the Browns to a 31-27 victory over the Vikings.
