Bears vs. Steelers 2013 game recap: Chicago’s defense comes up big in 40-23 win

The Steelers couldn’t overcome the two defensive touchdowns scored by the Bears.

The Pittsburgh Steelers made it interesting late in the game, but the Chicago Bears held on to win, 40-23, on Sunday Night Football.

Early mistakes by the Steelers gave the Bears a sizable first half lead, but Ben Roethlisberger and company got things cooking in the second half. Antonio Brown was the main recipient of Big Ben's aerial assault, catching two touchdowns, including a sick, one-handed catch in the back of the end zone. Unfortunately, the Steelers' didn't have much of a rushing attack.

In the end, Jay Cutler and the Bears did just enough when it counted to put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter. But the Bears’ defense scored two touchdowns of their own to sway momentum in Chicago’s favor and collected a total of five turnovers in the game.

The 17-point margin of victory wasn’t a strong indicator of how close the game was late, but the Bears improved to 3-0 in convincing fashion and remain atop the NFC North. The Steelers, meanwhile, fell to 0-3.

Fantasy Studs and Duds

Antonio Brown's fantasy owners couldn't have been happier with his performance. He caught eight passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns.

The rest of the fantasy stars were on Chicago's sideline. Matt Forte had over 100 total yards and a touchdown, and the Bears scored a pair of defensive touchdowns, boosting their fantasy owners' point totals.

Meanwhile, the entire Pittsburgh running game was a dud as usual.

Did they cover?

The Bears were one-point favorites entering the game, according to Odds Shark. They covered the spread with ease.
