The Baltimore Ravens may have beat the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon, but that doesn't mean they did not get out unharmed. Baltimore watched defensive tackle Terrence Cody hit the turf with what's been deemed a knee sprain, according to the team's official website.
Terrence Cody injury update: Ravens DL suffers knee sprain
Baltimore’s hulking nose tackle left early against Houston with a bad knee.
Cody suffered the injury in the first quarter and did not return to action.
The injury does not appear to be one that should keep Cody out of the lineup for an extended period of time, but still strikes at the lack of depth right now on the Ravens defensive line.
Coach John Harbaugh feels optimistic that Cody will be back on the field in short order:
“It does not look to be a long-term sprain,” Head Coach John Harbaugh said. “We’ll know more tomorrow. It could be this week, but more likely, it will be a couple of weeks.”
Thus far in 2013, Cody has one tackle on the campaign. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star had his most productive year in 2011 when he amassed 34 tackles. He is still looking for his first career sack.
