C.J. Spiller injury shouldn’t affect fantasy football value just yet

Spiller says his knee is sore, Schefter reports it’s a thigh injury, but it’s not time to push the panic button.

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills running back admitted that he was feeling some soreness in his knee after the team's 27-20 loss to the New York Jets, according to Joe Bustaglia of WGR.

However, Adam Schefter reported that Spiller actually suffered a thigh injury in the game.

Spiller rushed 10 times for just nine yards in the loss and has been inconsistent to start the season. He has played all 16 games in each of the last two seasons and insists that he will play next week against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy spin: In most leagues, Spiller has a first-round draft pick and has been relied upon as such early in the season. Unfortunately, he hasn’t lived up to his draft status through three games, and this knee injury may help explain why.

Still, it’s tough to sell Spiller down the river after seeing what he was capable of late last season. Assuming the injury is not a big deal, he remains a valuable fantasy asset worth starting every week. Don’t give up on him just yet.
