NFL injuries 2013: Terrence Cody, Billy Cundiff leave in Week 3

The AFC North was relatively injury-free in Week 3, although the Ravens could be without defensive tackle Terrence Cody for a while.

US PRESSWIRE

With three of the four teams winning and not many significant injuries, it was a good week for of the AFC North. Aside from bizarre, bottle-wielding stripper incidents, the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers managed to avoid taking damage.

While the Ravens will have to deal with the Jacoby Jones incident, the more significant loss for the team could be Terrence Cody's absence after he suffered a sprained knee in the team's 30-9 defeat of the Houston Texans. While Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the injury wasn't very serious, it is likely to cause him to miss some time. That's a huge blow for a Baltimore defense that has not yet allowed a rushing touchdown in 2013.

Not as serious was the injury that forced Browns kicker Billy Cundiff out of the team's 31-27 defeat of the Minnesota Vikings. Dealing with some tightness in his quad, Cundiff sat out late in Sunday's game and was replaced by punter Spencer Lanning for an extra point in the final minute of the game. The former Ravens kicker expects to be back soon though, and hopes he'll be able to kick in the team's Week 4 game against the Bengals.

The Bengals and the Steelers managed to avoid any significant injuries in Week 3.
