Mario Williams, C.J. Spiller ‘should be fine’ for Bills

Mario Williams and C.J. Spiller are expected to be “fine” after suffering injuries during the Bills’ loss to the Jets on Sunday. Stevie Johnson and Marcell Dareus are also expected to be okay for Week 4. Leodis McKelvin? Maybe not.

The Buffalo Bills were hit hard by injuries during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. C.J. Spiller (quadriceps) and Mario Williams (ankle) were among the biggest names to suffer injuries. However, both players should suit up for Week 4, head coach Doug Marrone told Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia.

Along with Spiller and Williams, Marrone confirmed that defensive tackle Marcell Dareus (ankle) and wide receiver Stevie Johnson (hamstring) should also suit up against the Baltimore Ravens. Marrone could not confirm the status of cornerback Leodis McKelvin, who suffered a hamstring injury during the loss. Meanwhile, defensive end Alex Carrington is likely out for the season due to a quadriceps tear.

Spiller’s injury appeared serious at the time it happened. He left the game in the second half and did not return after initially being ruled as “questionable.” Spiller struggled to find running room before getting hurt, rushing for just nine yards on 10 carries.

Williams was reportedly spotted limping to the locker room after the game. He was given an X-ray, the results of which have yet to be revealed. It's unclear when during the game Williams suffered the injury. Williams was coming off a 4.5-sack performance in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.
